Success Stories

Automotive/Retail

Profile:Large automotive dealer with over 25 sites and 1,600 employees

Problem:
The dealer wanted to provide their service customers access to the Internet without affecting the security of their network. They simultaneously wanted to have a backup network connection at each site in case their primary connections went down.

Solution:
We planned a telecommunications upgrade consisting of DSL circuits, Cisco routers and wireless access points, and a detailed failover plan. We coordinated with two major telecom providers to achieve redundancy all the way back to the data center.

Benefit:
The result is that all locations can use either primary or backup network, achieving a fully redundant network in addition to secured wireless DSL access for its customers.

Profile: Jewelry store chain with 10 locations

Problem:
The IT person was leaving the company and they needed someone who could come up to speed quickly and affordably.

Solution:
After a thorough assessment of tasks and roles, we implemented a NOAH Premium plan that allowed the retailer to utilize our help desk, after hours support, and on-site technicians just in time for the holiday peak season.

Benefit:
The customer was able to reduce IT expenditures by more than 50% utilizing our expertise.

Financial

Profile: Credit Union in Western Massachusetts with branch office operations

Problem:The senior management and board of directors needed a full time IT person to support about a dozen servers, support network-based applications, and to comply with regulatory requirements. Finding a person suitable to these tasks was difficult to find quickly.

Solution: With our broad financial IT systems knowledge, our team was able to exceed expectations as the Credit Union’s virtual IT department. We have consolidated their 12 servers down to 8, provide full help desk coverage, and have begun disaster recovery and compliance review procedures with third party services.

Benefit:The Credit Union can achieve more IT objectives in less time with our staff resources. There is also a benefit in cost savings over a full time IT resource.

Profile:
Community based Credit Union opening a new branch

Problem:
The incumbent vendors were not able to address the rather complex needs of proper network connectivity and overall project management to get the new location online in a timely manner.

Solution:
Before signing a support contract, we thoroughly assessed their communications requirements and proposed a solution that would simplify ongoing maintenance of the network. Through a NOAH Premium contract, we now provide the Credit Union an outsourced IT department.

Benefit:
The Credit Union gained a much needed design improvement to gain operational efficiency and tighter network security.

Profile: Insurance services firm supporting clients and agents nationwide

Problem:
Their main database vendor was providing unaffordable support to an obsolete system. A change was needed, but they needed assistance in both planning and implementation.

Solution:
We studied their situation carefully and assisted in recruiting a suitable database vendor that would implement a web based system accessible to all agents with sophisticated workflow and reporting capabilities. We provided the servers, integration, and support necessary to implement a gradual transition to the new system.

Benefit:
Many internal processes have been updated and automated allowing for the company to streamline operations and increase profitability.

Manufacturing

Profile:Specialized manufacturer located in Yonkers, NY

Problem:
The company was running mission critical Oracle databases running on an old version of Novell Netware not being supported by the vendor. They needed a vendor expert in both Netware and Linux as they planned on running both systems for awhile simultaneously.

Solution:
Our staff has a very strong expertise in both NetWare and Linux technologies and was well suited to handle this job. We provided a Novell OES server to host the new Oracle database and converted their main file services over to Linux with minimal issues.

Benefit:
The company can enjoy the performance gains of Linux and OES knowing their system will be supported for many years to come

Profile: Growing aerospace manufacturer with two sites

Problem:
The CEO needed an IT consulting firm to help plan a new infrastructure for voice and data and then have that firm provide implementation and support.

Solution:
We did a complete technology assessment on their systems, applications, phone system, communications, and network infrastructure. We installed 3 Windows servers, a Cisco Call Manager Express system and voice and data VPNs between sites to simplify future moves, adds and changes to the system.

Benefit:
With modernized VOIP, worldwide remote access via PDA, and wireless CNC machinery, the company is well positioned to compete in the global economy.

Non Profit

Profile: Multi-site Non-Profit provider of education and employment services to individuals with disabilities

Problem: After we provided a free analysis of their internal and interoffice telephone system, we pointed out the high operational costs and why their current system was incapable of expansion.

Solution: We determined the proper level of phone service required at each location and implemented a world class business VOIP (Voice Over IP) system. The new system now provides 4-digit interoffice dialing, a low cost multi-site network for both voice and data, individualized voice mail integrated with e-mail and multiple automated attendants to direct incoming calls based on the service needed.

Benefit: The Non-Profit can better meet their mission through a modernized phone system that is well integrated into their computer system very simple to maintain.

Pr
ofile:Local Baptist Church with a charismatic Reverend

Problem:
The old phone system needed an upgrade that the church could not afford.

Solution:
We presented the idea of integrating the phone system with their newly renovated data network. By installing a world class system manufactured by Cisco and a zero percent lease purchase, we were able to help them spread the word of God through an inspirational automated attendant voice recording.

Benefit:
The church was able to drop its expensive maintenance contract and has immediately gained a return on their investment.

Profile:Archdiocese Center with decentralized IT

Problem:
While the center had a common wiring infrastructure, each office was separately administered and selected the IT vendor they felt was best. Systems did not interconnect and there was no common platform.

Solution:
An administrative initiative was established to consolidate the voice and data systems into a single managed network. We were selected as the consulting firm to assess each office’s IT and voice needs and determine how to best consolidate all IT functions. Our detailed analysis and recommendations are being used to solicit bids from various providers in the area.

Benefit:
The anticipated benefit is that once a single vendor is chosen and systems upgraded or interconnected, the Archdiocese will achieve significant operational cost savings.

Public Sector

Profile: Town/Board of Education with a population of 24,000+

Problem: The IT director needed a company to work with that could meet strict timelines to set up a VMware environment while upgrading their entire Microsoft Exchange e-mail system.

Solution:We provided this customer a simple block time retainer and allocated several engineers to handle different aspects of the project. By doing so, we were able to bring their new system up in time and under budget.

Benefit:Because we also provide occasional outsourced support and work cooperatively with the internal IT staff, we are able to help save the town and taxpayers additional ongoing costs relative to maintenance and support.
